Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-talestories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me thinkof some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. Thissummer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s theworld-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The LittlePrince.
As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not verycomplex. “I”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has somethingwrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes theacquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, theAsteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because hehas some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he lefthis own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.
On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people,which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighterand a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups arevery odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in theSahara, on the earth.
Traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousandroses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose isunique in the universe before. At that time a fox appears. The fox, who tell thelittle prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his new friend. Atthe time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique becauseshe is his rose and tamed by him. From that the little prince begins to treasurefriendship and be responsible to his rose.
At the anniversary day of his descent of the earth, rejecting the pilot’sadvice, he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. “It’s too far. I cannot carry this body with me. It’s too heavy.” he said. He tells his friend, thepilot, he must be responsible for his rose, so he has to go back. At the end theauthor doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for usto imagine, and for more, think over.
One of the important characters is the rose. Growing on the planet, she isvery beautiful, but her coquetry and vanity suffer the little prince a lot. Inspite of they love each other, he soon becomes unhappy. On the time of hisdeparture, he just knows she certainly loves him. The character of the littleprince actually represents the children, and their native thoughts and deeds. Onthe contrary, the inhabitants on the other planets, such as the king, thebusinessman and the conceited man, they also reflect the defects in thegrown-up’s world. The real theme of this fairy-tale with a little sadness, Iguess, is the consequence of pure love and friendship in our lives, but notothers “matters of consequence” of the grown-ups.
Unbelievable, this little book moved me a lot. I seldom think about the truemeaning of love and life before. Well, now I can say, with my shortsixteen-year’s life experience, it’s like the stars in the sky that lit myheart. The little prince is not only an ordinary fairy-tale for children, butalso for grown-ups, and our teenagers. Nevertheless, when I read this book, Ifeel a little sad – about ourselves, whom are losing more and more innocence

once when i was six years old, i saw a magnificent picture in a book,calledtrue stories from nature, about the primeval forest. it was a picture of a boaconstrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. here is a copy of thedrawing.
in the book it said:" boa constrictors swallow their prey whole, withoutchewing it. after that they are not able to move, and they sleep through the sixmonths that they need for digestion."
i pondered deeply, then, over the adventures of the jungle. and after somework with a colored pencil i succeeded in making my first drowing,my drawingnumber one. it looked like this:
i showed my masterpiece to the grown-ups, and asked them whether the drawingfrightened them.
but they answered:"frighten? why should any one be frightened by a hat?"
my drawing was not a picture of a hat. it was a picture of a boa constrictordigesting an elephant. but since the grown-ups were not able to understand it, imade another drawing: i drew the inside of the boa constrictor,so that thegrown-ups could see it clearly. they always need to have things explained. mydrawing number two looked like this:
the grown-ups response,this time, was to adviseme to lay aside my drawing ofboa constrictors,whether from the inside or the outside and devote myselfinstead to geography, history, arithmetic and grammar. that is why, at the ageof six, i gave up what might have been a magnificent career as a painter. i hadbeen disheartened by the failure of my drawing number one and my drawing numbertwo. grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it si tiresome forchildren to be always and forever explaining things to them.

A Little Prince is a fairy tale.Someone regard it as a book written only for children.However ,when you read this book at different age, you will have different feelings toward the book. The author made us find our lost naivety. When we got lost in the real world, maybe it is a good way to get some relief by reading this book.
The little prince has gone.But in the everyning,when you look up into the sky,you’ll see five hundred million little laughing bellson one of which the little prince shall be living,and it is because of him that all the stars become meaningful.At the same time,it reminds us a truth:we are young,or at least we were young.

The Little Prince came from a planet which was scarcely any larger than a house. He admired a beautiful flower on the planet but was too young to know how to love her. Therefore, he decided to leave the planet and traveled to other planets. On the journey, he met various kinds of people.
