第一段的写信目的按道理说，在题目的说明部分（Direction）会明确提到。但是按照写作部分的阅卷要求，这一部分的内容不能照抄。照抄后扣分，因此，今天给大家就这一部分进行整理，好好记：
写信目的：
I am writing this letter to do sth.
I am writing this letter for the purpose of doing sth.
道歉信：I am writing this letter to express my sincere apology to you.我写这封信是为了向你表达我真诚的歉意。
感谢信：I am writing to express my sincere appreciation/gratitude to you.我写此信向你表达我真诚的感激之情。
投诉信：I am writing to express my disappointment/dissatisfaction about...我写信来表达我对??一事的不满。
咨询信：I am writing to inquire whether...我写信咨询是否可以??
建议信：I am writing the letter to offer/propose some practical/helpful suggestions to you.我写信给你一些有用的建议。
邀请信：I am honored to invite you to...能够邀请您??我倍感荣幸。
辞职信：I am writing this letter to resign from my current position and make an apology for any inconvenience.我写信辞职并对此表达歉意。
求职信：I would like to apply for the position of ... in your company.我很想申请你们公司的??职位。
求学信：I am deeply interested in your graate program in the department of ... and plan to apply for admission for the spring/fall semester.我对贵校??系的研究生专业很感兴趣，希望能够申请春季/秋季入学。
推荐信：It is a great pleasure to recommend ... as the right person/choice for your consideration.很荣幸推荐??作为你考虑的最优人选/最佳选择。
祝贺信：I am writing to extend my heartfelt congratulations on...我写信对??表达真诚的祝贺。
欢迎信：I am writing to you, on behalf of ..., to express heartfelt welcome to all of you.我谨代表??致信向你们表示诚挚的欢迎。
答复函：In response to your last letter, I am writing to inform you that...作为对你上次信件的回复，我写此信通知你??。
拒绝信：I am sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you...很抱歉地通知你，我们无法给你提供??
倡议信：On behalf of ..., I am writing this letter to appeal to sb to do sth.我代表??写信给大家以提出一些倡议。
