The sacred obligations of a business to the society, i.e., providing services, enriching and improving people's lives, should be viewed as the center in the cultural development of the enterprise. This is only the first obligation of a business to the society.
There is a famous idiom from the ancient Chinese book entitled "The Highest Learning" which states, "to improve oneself first, then to support family, manage a country, and finally to conquer the world." The ultimate destiny of a business is to become a charitable organization which makes profits. Therefore, what a business is confronted with is self improvement.
China, a large country with a population of 1,3 billion, is currently having a lot of difficulties, especially in the countryside. It is certainly the responsibility of the government to try to resolve these problems. But government efforts alone are not enough.
