the Working Principle of Engine
engines of most cars are internal combustion engines,our-stroke reciprocating gasoline engines, besides, there are some other kinds of engines, like diesel engines, rotor engines, two-stroke engines and split combustion engines.
Reciprocating means moving up and down or forth and back. In the reciprocating engine, the up and down motion of the piston in the cylinder generates the power of engine. For this kind of engines, almost all depends on cylinder block, namely engine cylinder block, which is made of cast iron or cast aluminium. It concludes water jacket for engine cylinder and cooling fluid circulation. The top of the cylinder block is the cylinder head, which constitutes the combustion chamber, and the bottom of the cylinder block is the oil pan.
