The first reason why a bird can fly is very obvious, it has wings which offer a bird upwards thrust. The second reason is that the bones of a bird are relatively lighter than other species', therefore it only need little energy to keep flying. Of course these two reasons are the basic theories to explain why a bird can fly, there are still more complex reasons.
