Starting from the description of the general concept of the green barriers, this paper examines the current development status of China’s textiles and the reasons and contents of such green barriers faced by China’s textile export. The analysis of this paper is divided into four parts: part one outlines the barriers’ origins, consequences, characteristics and the impacts on the world economy and trade; part two summarizes the current development status of China’s textile export; part three analyzes the impacts the green barriers have exerted on China’s textile export; part four puts forward the corresponding suggestions and countermeasures against such green barriers.

With the ever rapid growth of Chinese textile and garment exports in recent years, developed countries try to restrict the Chinese textile exports by resorting to the use of technical barriers after the adoption of trade barriers has failed to do the same. One of the technical barriers that has seriously affected the textile exports of China is the Green Barrier, and the export situation confronting us is grimmer than ever, posing a stronger challenge to the Chinese textile exports.

Based on the analysis of the impact on the Chinese textile exports caused by the Green Barriers in the last few years, it submits some proposals to cope with the Green Barriers. This analysis is divided into four parts: the first part outlines the implications, root causes and features of the Green Barriers, as well as its impact on the economic trade of the world; the second part briefly describes the current state of development of the Chinese textile exports; the third part analyzes the impact of Green Barriers on the Chinese textile exports; and the fourth part submits proposals and countermeasures to cope with the Green Barriers.
