常见的短语动词有四类：
1.动词+介词
look after look for listen to rely on talk about think of The old woman was well looked after. This subject will be talked about later.
2. 动词＋副词，如: bring up carry out clean out cut up find out give up hand in make up pay off pull down put forward put off think over work out This idea was put forward by John. 3. 动词＋副词＋介词，如: come up with look down upon make up for put up with The egoistic（自私自利者）are looked down upon.
4. 动词＋名词＋介词，如: catch sight of draw one's attention to make an example of make sense of make use of pay attention to take care of They will be taken (good) care of. This pattern should be paid attention to. Attention should be paid to this pattern.
