意思不同。

a way of doing。

一种做法。

a way to do。

方法。

He was always looking for a better way to do a simple job.

他一直在寻找一种更好的方法来做一件简单的工作。

And I think that's probably a much better way to do it.

do都可以的，在bbc的网站上好像出现后者的网页数量还更多。这里后面已经用了saying，所以只能用of.
此外还有考虑后面的空格。

的两种结构。of
后接动名词。to
接动词原形。

含有一种"要"的意思在里面.
而a

doing则是客观的谈论的这个事情本身
通常事情已经发生了
