What if I were to leave tomorrow? Would the price be lower?
虚拟有两个意思：
1. 与事实不一样
2. 表达假想， 假设
就你的第二个提问：
If it were to snow this evening, they would not go out.
和
If it snows this evening, they will not go out.
没有实质上的区别， 前者只是表达提问者认为下雪的可能性不很大。
