To do如果做谓语动词的补语，自身有两种可能，分别是宾语和主补。
I like to keep everything tidy. 不定式做宾语
All he wanted was to make his wife happy. 主补
不定式还可做其他成分，如下所示：
She told me not to answer the phone. 宾补
I'm very happy to know you. 形补
He's struggling to bring up a family alone. 状语
This is a good place to start reading. 定语
