A pump skid includes a pump and a driver such as an electric motor or diesel engine mounted on a common steel base.
Nearly all pumping units are sold as pump skids. Pump skids include the pump and motor (or engine) coupled together and mounted on a steel baseplate. In most cases, the pump skid is assembled by the pump manufacturer. However, some enterprising pump suppliers may purchase just the pump from the manufacturer, procure a suitable motor separately, design and build the baseplate themselves, and assemble the skid at their own facility prior to shipping the assembled pump skid on to the purchaser.
泵撬一开始是指泵和装在一块金属板上的柴油机引擎或者电力引擎的套装。
最近，所有的泵相关的单元部件都被整合起来当作泵撬来卖，也就是说泵撬指的是安装一个能正常使用的泵所需的所有部件，包括泵本身，引擎，一块用来固定的金属板。一般来说，泵的生产厂家会组装好泵，但是一些泵的供应商会只从厂家购买泵本体，再自己采购合适的引擎，自己设计建造金属板底座，然后在自己的厂房把它们组装起来卖给消费者
