Speaking of my favorite childhood memory, there is no doubt that the baseball final I took part in when I was 11 is the best of all. It happened on the second year of my stay in America.
At that time, my language was much better; I was able to communicate with other classmates and they got to know me better. Because I was eager to do all kinds of activities, so my teacher recommended me to the school baseball team. I was pretty nervous at first; after all, I was facing with a discrimination problem. But the team greeted me warmly, and it help me feel relax. Because a lot of our old team members move up to the middle school team and they didn’t make it to the final last year, the team was in very low spirit. Our coach, who was my PE teacher, decided to rearrange the team and fit some of new comers to the team. He wanted me to try for the catcher first but I wasn’t strong enough to do the job, so I ended as the left fielder. I thought this wasn’t a hard job but the training proved I was so wrong! We had to practice for long high ball, low fast ball and dashing ball. But it did the job, we successfully made it to the final and we’re facing the last year champion, who defeated us last year in the round before final.
I didn’t make any mistake ring all the matches, but I think everyone will have to be unlucky sometimes. So a deadly mistakes came from me, I missed the low fast ball hitting to my area, which should be my specialty, and they were able to scored 2 points. I was very disappointed when we got off the field, but everyone comforted me not to worry, I couldn’t sense the disappointment I was expecting. But my coach and our caption, who was the pitcher, didn’t say anything which really made me nervous.
The situation of 2 points behind continued for about 2 rounds. When we were returning from the field at the end of 4th round, our caption called me and I went over to see what was going on. He was adjusting his helmet getting ready to go up to strike. “Don’t be too upset.” He said. “En?” I didn’t realize what he was talking about at first. “You’ll get your lucky chance.” With that he run off to batter’s box.

A Pleasant Memory of My Childhood
I am already 18 years old, but the memory of my childhood is still like an unforgettable sweet dream.
One day, all my family went to climb a mountain. There father told my elder sister and me that the first one to get to the top of the mountain would be given a toy. Hearing this, we began to run up. At first I kept ahead, but a few minutes later my sister was ahead of me. However, I didn't give up. That toy attracted me to run forward, In the end I reached the top first.
On the top we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and had a picnic. At sk, we went down the mountain happily. I was the happiest one, because I not only got a toy train but also knew that one shouldn't give up readily.

“Yo, Alan!” the coach called me, “get ready, it’s your turn next.” I froze at the words, completely forgot about the fact that I was the next one to strike. Before I could say anything a loud “Bang” passed to our ears, our caption had already hit the ball. It’s a long high ball but the fielder didn’t make it so caption successfully made to the third base. “Trust yourself Alan, don’t let a few mistakes block your eyes, trust your feeling.” And he pushed me to the batter’s box.
Surprisingly, I was extremely clam. “Strike one!” but a voice was telling me this won’t stay long. “Ball!” “Ball!” “Ball!” I looked challengingly at the pitcher and smile. “Strike two!” the last one. I don’t know what had got into me, the pitch was clearly a bad one, it was way too low, but a kind of power inside me made me swing the bat. Instead of “Strike out!” a clear “Bang!” came into my ears, and I looked astonishingly at the ball completely forgetting what I was supposed to do.
“Alan runs! What on earth are you waiting for?” I heard someone shouting, and I throw the bat and rushing to the base. First base, the ball was still in the air, second base, the ball was already falling down but the fielder was way too behind to catch it. I hesitated when I made it to the third base because the left fielder had picked up the ball and threw towards the third base. But nothing could stop me now, I ran as fast as I could to the home plate. I even think I heard the ball chasing after me. When I was about a few steps away I threw myself to the plate. When I touch the plate, I could clearly feel the mutt on my body, but I couldn’t tell if I made it or not, I was waiting for the judgment. “Safe! Score!” I let out my breath and stand up, but I was almost knocked down again when caption nearly throw himself on me. We successfully scored 2 points and now we are tied again!
Unfortunately, we lost the game in the end; they were just too strong for us. Although the result was disappointing I think I learned an important lesson. Teamwork and trust for your teammates, those two things still stay in my heart now, of course the encouragements were also important, but I don’t think I can do it if it wasn’t for my teammates who didn’t even blame me for my mistake. I think it had already become a motto for them “You’ll get your lucky chance.” In the end I did
