In every school there is a “top” crowd that sets the pace, while the others follow their lead. Let's say the top crowed decides that it is *** art to wear bright red sweaters. Pretty soon everybody is wearing a bright red sweater.
每所学校中都有一群领头学生引领潮流,其他人争相效仿。比如说,这些领头学生认为穿鲜红色羊毛衫很时尚,那么很快人人都会穿上鲜红色羊毛衫。
There is something wrong with that, except the fact that on some people bright red sweater is extremely unbeing. The situation can anwenw even bee dangerous, if the top crowd decides that it is *** art to drink or to drive cars at seventy miles an hour. Then the people who follow the lead were endangering their lives. They are like the sheep being led to the butcher.

Now, changes are that you have e across situations like these more than once in your life; changes are that one time or another you probably did something you knew to be wrong. You may have excused yourself by saying, “Gee, the crowd does it.” Well, let the crowd do it, but don't do it yourself. Learn to say, “No!”

Develop your own standards and your own judgement. If you know the crowd is planning something you disagree to, have the courage to bow out mannerly, you'll have the satisfaction of standing on your own two feet.

The candles themselves were nothing, but as one candle was used to light another in a dark room, the room would grow brighter.

Then as each lighted candle was used to light others, the dark room would begin to glow with a wonderful brightness. In the end, as every single candle was lit, the room was bathed in the glorious, shining light of not only fire but also love and joy. It doesn’t matter how tiny a candle you may think your life is. You can use it to shine a little light and love in this world. It doesn’t matter how brief your candle flickers are and how *** all your flame burns right now. You can feed it, build it and watch it grow. You may think you’re your life is a tiny candle now, but you can turn it into a powerful bonfire if you would like.

真实的渴望Your Quiet Hunger
There lies in the heart of every man and woman a quiet hunger：a longing for an earth shaking significance.
在我们每个人心中都深藏着一份无声而真实的渴望：一种创造辉煌人生的渴望。
It can be heard in the quiet, most unedited times like when our head hits the pillow anwenw at night. As the pressures of the day fade away the voice catches our attention: “I was meant for more than this, there has got to be something more.”
这种渴望有时会在不经意的安静时刻，比如当我们在夜晚将头靠落有枕头上时听到。当一天的压力逐渐退去，有种声音会震撼我们的灵魂：“生活不仅仅是这样，我的人生可以更灿烂。”
Many people have learned to accept a life of quiet resignation, mitted to maintaining the status-quo. But still, in the times we least expect it, we hear that distant call again: a call for meaning, purpose, passion, significance. It continues to haunt us, to stalk us, and as we try to silence it with reason and maturity we find that indeed, it is a fire within our bones and it will not yield.
