The key to effective cross-cultural munication is knowledge. First, it is essential that people understand the potential problems of cross-cultural munication, and make a conscious effort to overe these problems. Second, it is important to assume that one's efforts will not always be successful, and adjust one's behavior appropriately. For example, one should always assume that there is a significant possibility that cultural differences are causing munication problems, and be willing to be patient and fiving, rather than hostile and aggressive, if problems develop. One should respond slowly and carefully in cross-cultural exchanges, not jumping to the conclusion that you know what is being thought and said. William Ury's suggestion for heated conflicts is to stop, listen, and think, or as he puts it "go to the balcony" when the situation gets tense. By this he means withdraw from the situation, step back, and reflect on what is going on before you act. This helps in cross cultural munication as well. When things seem to be going badly, stop or slow down and think. What could be going on here? Is it possible I misinterpreted what they said, or they misinterpreted me? Often misinterpretation is the source of the problem.Active listening can sometimes be used to check this out–by repeating what one thinks he or she heard, one can confirm that one understands the munication accurately. If words are used differently beeen languages or cultural groups, however, even active listening can overlook misunderstandings. Often intermediaries who are familiar with both cultures can be helpful in cross-cultural munication situations. They can translate both the substance and the manner of what is said. For instance, they can tone down strong statements that would be considered appropriate in one culture but not in another, before they are given to people from a culture that does not talk together in such a strong way. They can also adjust the timing of what is said and done. Some cultures move quickly to the point; others talk about other things long enough to establish rapport or a relationship with the other person. If discussion on the primary topic begins too soon, the group that needs a "warm up" first will feel unfortable. A mediator or intermediary who understands this can explain the problem, and make appropriate proceral adjustments.Yet sometimes intermediaries can make munication even more difficult. If a mediator is the same culture or nationality as one of the disputants, but not the other, this gives the appearance of bias, even when none exists. Even when bias is not intended, it is mon for mediators to be more supportive or more understanding of the person who is of his or her own culture, simply because they understand them better. Yet when the mediator is of a third cultural group, the potential for cross-cultural misunderstandings increases further. In this case engaging in extra discussions about the process and the manner of carrying out the discussions is appropriate, as is extra time for confirming and re-confirming understandings at every step in the dialogue or negotiating process.。
Pressure is unavoidable in one's life, and it maybe from peers, or work, romance and so on. Some indivials bee passive when they meet it, and lose their fight. My personal view, however, is that there will be no process if no without pressure. Therefore, the only thing we can do, if any, is to relieve our stress.
The methods that I relieve my pressure are variety various, such as reading novels, watching TV and touring. Tour is the way I like most, espec ially mountain-climbing. I always climb ZiJin Mount with my fellow friends when the term begins. The procere of climbing is intense interest. We chat with each other, see the scene, and encourage the one who is too tired to climb. Communication and incorporation are topics all along. Finally, when we mount the peak and overlook, we are excited, and I always have an illusion that the world is under my foot, and the pressure or vexation like clouds are blew blown away.
The News Report has always been my favorite TV program. Almost everyday I turn on the TV at 6:30 p.m. and wait for the news program. This has bee a part of my life. The News Report contains a large amount of information C from the international political situation to the latest foot-ball game. And the most important character is its fast pace. Because of this fast pace, news programs can contain much information in a short time. In my opinion, the News Report is more than a TV program. It is a way of munication. From this program, people can know and understand world affairs. The world thus bees *** aller and *** aller. I especially appreciate this benefit of watching the news. How something changed me I don't konw when and how the life changed me to be the one who is typing in this article. But I know I am changing graally. From the biological aspect, I am changing in seconds. My skin will bee old and then die, my blood cells need to be replaced by new ones. There are millons of biochemical reations happening in my body every seconds. Yeah, that's true. Compared with the girl wose owned the name' HH', the currently HH is more beautiful. In these years, I became to have confidence in my apprence. At least, I am not so ugly as I usually thought. At the same time, I cam to know what is a society. In a society, you cannot live alone. You must municate with others. When you do everything, you need to meet with some pleple. Yes, I need to face the world. Never to escape from the true world and the relationships in the true world. I was afraid of meeting with strangers even till now. But the enviroment pushs me to change myslef.I am always an emotional one. Maybe, more rational thinking should be concted before I make any dicision. Er, I need to learn about this. Some bad things happened on me when I grew to be the current one.:( I lost my former interest in reading, maybe because of other media such as movie, TV and inter. I cannot focus on studying as before. There are many other things I will consider. I am always on my way to find out who I am and who I want to be. Till now, there is still no answer. Maybe the real answer will not be found till the last moment. But at least, I own my experience today and more in future. I don't know what I want to be so I need to know more and try more before I get to the right place。

since the world has various culture, the distinction beeen different culture is obivious, too.
such cross- cultural munication sometimes can be difficult. they are originated from misunderstanding, discrimination, or merely unfamiliar with other culture. the influences of such misunderstanding are usually negative. for instance, negotiation with foreign partners may be prevented e to lacking of relevant knowledge of their culture.
then what can we do to decrease, if can not eliminate such misunderstanding? first and foremost, it is fundermental to get in touch with different culture so as to know more. we can take advantage of neork, as well as magzines and other materials to master more knowledge of other cultures.
in this age, cross- cultural munication is inevitable. thus, it is important and necessary to take part in such trend and municate effectively.

Great changes have taken place in the way of munication in people's life.
In the past, people kept in touch with each other mainly by writing l
1) With the quickening pace of globalization, exchanges across cultures enable peoples to benefit a lot from each other. 2) The story of Lei Feng, for example, teaches the foreigners how to integrate one's aspirations into the prosperity of his/her nation while the success in Bill Gates' life proves that the genuine core of one's petence serves as the key to laughing last in the world of petition. 3) So the wisest course of action open to us is to absorb from such exchanges as much enlightenment as possible. 4) The other day I happened to dine in a restaurant in time to see a little boy fall off a chair and start crying on end. 5) His mother tried to coax him to stop crying, but without success. 6) So she resorted to her trump card, as many other Chinese women do, asking her hu *** and to take part in her efforts while saying to her son, “ Oh, my honey, do not cry. It's the chair that is much to blame. Look, your dad is kicking it.” 7) Eventually, she succeeded in stopping the boy from crying; but also made it rooted in his little mind that one's failure is e largely to others rather than one's self. 8) As a contrast, we may consider my similar but earlier experience with a little foreign girl in the same restaurant. 9) While dining with her parents at the table next to mine, the little girl, perhaps seized with the attraction of the Chinese bean-curd with hot pepper, took a big swallow of it just as soon as it was served. 10) But no sooner had she eaten the curd than she started gasping hard, with her little hands pulling the burning tongue all out of her wide-opened mouth and big teardrops running down her red cheeks. 11) Much to my shock, her parents went on with their delicious meals as if nothing had happened. 12) When I went over to fort the poor girl, however, they *** ilingly declined my kindness for the simple reason that the diverse flavors of life had to be tried in person. 课件/link?url=HtKHAEE1ksvsFyGJHe3PYjMOAOeIMm0GSyiOtYtft06ZDo1JfHZEY3tAoyc1ZErQZ07OycFhccTW2JnUbe8n_AYRkujjOOLSlnuYP0Z3Pga 好。
