英文当然有古文的,由于英语属于拼音文字,记音文字,时代变迁,同一词的发音会也会发生变迁,单词的拼写自然也会随之改变。所以同一词不同时代有不同写法,变化较大、往往造成不同时代文字不能通读,且每出现一个新事物,又要另造出一个新词、字词数量越来越庞大,且往往只用在某一学科,所以即使是英国本地的日常英语精熟的学科专家,要想跨学科来看其它学科的的英文文献,不借助工具书也只能是只知其音,不知其意,如看天书。不像汉字是表意文字(或既表意又表音文字),日常用字也就3、4千个,只要掌握了常用字,其它字词就可触类旁通、甚至望文知义,只用这些字组合就能够造出新事物对应的词,汉字总量不变,因为表意,所以即使新词再多也可望文知义,或利用很短的时间就可永远掌握词义,所以即使是掌握了日常汉字的小学生,仍然可通读用汉字写的最前沿学科的文章。

人不悦地将他喝退。客人们说:“令郎远道而来,不妨一见。”道士皱眉有顷,便说:“那
就让他进来吧。”一会儿,只见进来个老头儿,鬓发皆白,伛偻着身子,老迈不堪。他上前
就向道士跪拜。拜毕,道士将他喝进中门,然后缓缓地对客人们说:“小儿愚蠢呆笨,不肯
服食仙丹,以至于变成了这副样子。他还未满一百岁,便形容枯槁,已被我驱逐到山村的茅
屋里了呵。”听罢,客人们更加信以为真,将他当神崇拜。后来,有人暗地里盘问道士的亲
戚朋友,这才得知:那位伛偻身子的老头儿,乃是道士的父亲呵。喜好道术的人们,受到了
他的欺骗和盅惑,就像婴孩儿受到大人的欺骗一样。
