hear用在当声音不经意的传到你的耳朵里 ．
例１：I hear a strange noise coming from next door.我听到隔壁有怪声．
例２：I hear the bird singing outside. 我听到小鸟在外面唱歌．
例３：Can you hear me? 你听得到我说话吗？（可用於二个朋友用手机对话时）
listen则是用在专注的听
例１：I was listening to the radio last night. 我昨晚在听广播．
例２：I was listening to some music when you called me. 你打电话给我时，我正在听（专心）音乐．
例３： A: What are you doing? 你在做什麼？ B: I'm listening to a new CD.我正在听一个新专辑．
例４：I'm listening to my English teacher's explanation about verb tenses. 我正在听英文老师讲解动词时态．
例５：I always listen to my parents' advice. 我总是听从父母的建议．

例：I accidentally overheard what they were saying. 我不小心听到他们讲的话．

eaves是屋檐的意思，站在屋檐听人家说话就变成偷听了；eavsedrop加per--> eavesdropper意思是窃听者．
