SPRING
Thomas Nash
Spring, the sweet Spring, is the year's pleasant king;
Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring,
Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing,
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The palm and may make country houses gay,
Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day,
And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay,
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet,
Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit,
In every street theses tunes our ears do greet,
Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo!
Spring! the sweet Spring!

To the wall sunshine into the house

Let the energy from the universe

Huddling in a corner of the grass

Started sprouting hair and skin

Fog obscured the sun with a round face red
Like the feminine side of the moon
Walked on the water vapor transpiration

There are cars and the elderly hair
Have been warm and humid

Simple hands
And facial expressions
Wind carried away
Navel close to the sky
Oh get rid of the winter
Those flowers in the United States
Vaguely nasal tip
They quarreled in the wind
Days in shaking

A Poem on Spring
The long and lonesome winter nights
thawed in Spring's intoxicating breath
embalmed with the message of rebirth
loud in the breaking of riotous green.
Both earth and heaven are possessed
by the religion of life's resurgence
being preached in growing evidence
of chirping birds and released rivers.
I wish I were a blade of growing grass
under the ocean-blue sky unfrosted
by the first legion of sharp sunlight
shaking to the core winter's fortress,
Feeling the tender caress of breeze
drinking from the spring night rain.
And when you tread upon this field
I will be among the myriads waving.
