Pentagram来自美国Virginia（维吉尼亚）的Arlington（阿林顿），1971年,主唱/词曲作者Bobby Liebling和吉他手/鼓手Geof O'Keefe创建了这支日后大名鼎鼎的厄运金属劲旅。在组建Pentagram之前，Bobby曾是Shades of Darkness （暗之阴影）(1966-1969)的一员，而Geof则是另一支乐队Space Meat的成员之一。离开Shades of Darkness之后，Bobby也曾加入过Space Meat并停留了3个月左右。Stone Bunny（石头小兔）是Pentagram最早的名字，它的原始阵容包括主唱Bobby Liebling、贝司手Vincent McAllister、吉他手Geof O'Keefe以及鼓手Steve Martin。
